WindowMaster SHEV solutions include control panels, electric actuators for windows and smoke vents, control devices, sensors, power supplies and associated automation, enabling systems to be configured for a wide range of building types and project requirements.
In the event of fire, the system automatically opens the designated smoke and heat exhaust openings. This enables controlled removal of smoke and heat from the building, improves conditions along escape routes and creates better conditions for firefighting operations.
SHEV Control Panels and Actuators
At the heart of the system are WindowMaster SHEV control panels, providing power, control and monitoring for electric actuators and other system components.
WindowMaster’s extensive actuator range enables automated operation of different types of windows and smoke vents. Depending on project requirements, actuators can be selected according to the required force, stroke, operating speed and control method, while multiple actuators can be synchronised for larger or heavier openings.
Systems can be designed for small individual zones as well as complex buildings incorporating multiple zones and control functions.
Smoke and Heat Exhaust and Natural Ventilation in One System
An important advantage of WindowMaster technology is the possibility of using automated windows for everyday natural ventilation.
Under normal operating conditions, window opening can be controlled according to temperature, indoor air quality, weather conditions or commands from the building management system. In the event of fire, the smoke and heat exhaust function takes priority and moves the relevant openings to their predefined fire positions.
This allows the same infrastructure to combine fire safety, natural ventilation and building automation, provided that both functions are correctly designed and coordinated.
Integration and Monitoring
WindowMaster systems can be interfaced with the fire detection and alarm system, Building Management System (BMS) and other building automation systems.
Monitoring and control capabilities depend on the selected configuration, ranging from straightforward standalone solutions to advanced systems incorporating multiple zones and integrated control functions.

A smoke and heat exhaust ventilation system is more than a combination of a control panel and window actuators. Correct operation requires coordination of the type and geometry of the openings, required aerodynamic free area, actuator forces and strokes, opening method, number and arrangement of zones, power supply and system control logic.
